April Fool Gags in Search Engines 2006

Every year staff at the major search engines decide it would be funny to release a few 'gags' into the world to celebrate this day of trickery and japes. Why fix a search engine index dominated by irrelevant results built from link spam, hidden text and cloacking when you can have mess around (I'm in a mood today so may be being a bit harsh)?.

Google and April Fool

Google decided that an appropriate wheeze would be an expansion of the Google Maps system. They called in Google Rooms! Lo and behold in that sense of we aint a Global Behemoth of a company and are 'down with the kids' attitude of Page and Bryn they develop a room that you can zoom into. Boy, the fun they must have had. Significant landmarks in Larrys bedroom include a copy of playboy, a Millenium Falcon, that big Green ship the Klingons fly in star trek(didn't know that had to ask a five year old!) and a photo of his ex. Be still my beating heart, laugh well we didnt.
