Advanced Operators

Advanced Operators in search engines allow you to request specific information relating to a site or a specific subset of the normal results.

The most commonly used Advanced Operators, and Operands, include :

  • site: - If you preceed a domain by this query in Google or MSN you will be shown all the pages that this search engine contains within the index for this domain. In Yahoo! the equaivalent is domain:.
  • link: - If you preceed a domain by this query in Google or MSN the results will be the set of links that point to the domain. In Yahoo! you should use linkdomain:
